Celeste : A lot More Than Just A Puzzle Mountain Climber

Firstly, sorry it's been some time since the last article about games... cause I have been playing games..(I love games can't control it and you know it cause you do it too)... so moving one Celeste is a game I recently finished (not entirely 100%) which is developed and published by Matt Make games (The Guys who made TowerFall).. the game released in January this year ( yeah I played it way late okay?)... and it received a lot's of praise for its design and story (I mean game has 10/10 on steam and 9/10 on Metacritic and ratings didn't go below 8/10 on anything... which is Surprising in 2018).
So I decided to give it a go... I am blown away by it, to be honest... and if you haven't played it please play it you won't regret it... it has something for all kind of gamers challenges, deep storytelling, unique gameplay you name it...so if you want to know more about it keep on reading...

The Story {minor spoilers ahead}

The Story of Celeste starts when our protagonist Madeline (You can change the name if you want) arrives at the Celeste mountain with the decision to climb the mountain and meets our first NPC of the game who lives on the mountain granny (she a bit mysterious kind of person) she warns Madeline and questions her decision to climb the mountain tells her that she may see things on the mountain she is not to see.

But Madeline ignores her and keep on going... Madeline keep climbing the mountain and reaches a camp where she meets another fellow climber Theo who is there for selfies? and tourism I guess (you remember that friend who posts a lot of stuff and pics he's that guy) and you take a selfie and talk a little about him and yourself revealing some of your past.
Then Madeline has a dream in which she proceeds into the mountain and finds a mirror from which a spirit like something escapes and we also get another glimpse of what happened in the past to her.
Later... Madeline found out that spirit who claims to be a part of her which escapes and Madeline realizes that Celeste is no ordinary mountain it has strange powers.
Then as the story continues you meet another and I think last NPC Mr.Oshiro who runs Celeste resort on the mount Celeste which hardly has any visitors and he got excited to see you and tries to keep you in the resort... but that's not how it ends.
Then we keep on climbing the mount Celeste and meet the NPC's again on the way reveal some more background about them... when Madeline reaches near the summit things get bad and she hit rock bottom (Sorry can't reveal major stuff don't want to ruin your suspense) then she rises up again and with little help climbs the mountain again and reaches the mountain and then she bakes a pie for everyone with the strawberries she collected along the way.
A year later she gets a call from granny that she found a cave and Madeline arrives again at the mountain to explore the secrets of the cave (can't tell you the secrets cause I don't know them either).

That's the complete story of Celeste minus the major spoilers... the great thing about Celeste is its storyline handles topics which are very hard to tackle and even hard to take on with a game like this...kind of platformer game yet developers beautifully weaved them into the game.. and those topics are Depression, Self-esteem, Inner demons and social media etc... it's amazing how they tackled the topic in between the storyline..you will be amazed too.

10 Indie Games you must play

Gameplay {hard but not unbeatable}

So the gameplay is a big part of Celeste and you will realize as soon as you start playing it... it's tough as nails but not too much you have to navigate Madeline through a series of traps and puzzles to complete the chapter seems easy enough right?... well let's say it is an easier said than done type situation... they get harder as you progress through the level.. you can die when you touch any of the spikes and game will reset to the start of that section which basically starts at the bottom of that room only thankfully (because you are going to die a lot).
Madeline can perform a midair dash like hollow night and grab and climb on to a wall for a certain period of time before stamina runs out... will also gain a second dash later in the game but till then you have only one to use on everything... the dash can be only used once and must be reset by standing on ground or hitting objects like dash crystals etc.
There's a lot more than just traps and puzzles as all chapters also feature a certain amount of strawberries to collect which require you to really push it as a strawberries count collected only if you hit the solid ground after collecting them they change the ending based on the number of strawberries you collected throughout the whole game (I m sure they also have some achievements for those things too).
There's also a number of other things hidden throughout the levels like blue hearts which unlock post-game content and a tape with unlocks Side B of the chapters which are kind of tougher version of the the chapters (cause originals weren't challenging enough) and if you really push the limit's when you complete all side B levels Side C of chapters got unlocked which is tougher but shorter version of chapters.
And if you are thinking don't you get bored by all this answer is nope cause they push things after each chapter by adding new and additional mechanics...so no getting bored in this game that's for sure.
That's all about the gameplay of Celeste.

Story

As already told this is the story about Chris and his life who is a 9-year-old kid living in Beavers Creek, Oregon with his father ( who was a basketball player ) and both of them lost a person who they loved that is Chris's MOM (Who was a cartoonist ).
As the idea of being in a household without a mom breaks the heart and seems depressing the game tells the story it wants to tell and connections it wants you to feel beautifully you can't predict how characters will react to different actions or what great happens next.. the game depicted it so well you will love the experience of the story and you can walk around the home and interact with various things and sit or lay on places to listen to music, play with toys, and complete various quests which totally do what they meant to remind us of our pretty childhood days on a snow day ( If you don't have snow days well I feel bad for you but hey now you can experience it ).

Gameplay

So gameplay is pretty much like Life is Strange where you explore and uncover secret stuff which Chris is not meant to see but did cause we all have an awesome curiosity and that's beauty of it when you play as Chris you become a child and play with all toys ( And the sounds those different toys make which are actually made by Chris are hilariously cute ) and poke around with almost everything and find stuff make stuff and play in snow and use amazing imagination to visit different planets and you really start to care pretty much about Cris and his superpower which is Optimism, as his imagination makes monsters out of its fears and superpowers out of his Optimism you will love the activities you perform in the awesome adventures of captain spirit as they take you to your own childhood and all of them are easily relatable like treasure hunt ( We all know what is treasure to all of us like it is to Chris ) and you can use some special captain spirit actions  which highlight as you get closer.

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom A Must Play !!

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom developed by Level-5 studios and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment ( I bet you remember them ) is an RPG launched on 23 March 2018 For PS4 and Microsoft Windows.
The game is really fun and it's set in an open world which let you roam freely throughout the kingdom and player also encounters several enemies of different types while doing so.

Gameplay

The gameplay is really great and you are going to enjoy it very much let's talk about combat first the combat is really amazing as it can be for a game like this they completely nailed the cartoon combat we always wanted those slashes magic and everything.
When player encounter enemies they get into a battle system all battles take place in open areas which allow the player to move freely on the battlefield in an ongoing battle during the battle the player only can command one of the protagonists and other protagonists can be moved manually in the battlefield each protagonist has their own abilities and set of weapons they can use against enemies.
Player uses different types of melee weapons and attacks and magical abilities and small creatures known as Higgledies ( seems like they picked it from a cartoon show anyways, ) Higgledies are spirits of hearts and exist in several forms and they also come in different colors which denotes their abilities and elements they related to like red ones denote fire and they will trigger fire attacks.
players can use these Higgledies not only in combat but also in several other places to find chests and complete certain quests.
Now, let's talk about the game world they really made an awesome and very pretty game world which makes you fall in love with it the moment you start playing in it even as cartoon characters the gameworld exactly matches the expectations of the players as they can everything they want in it like exploring villages towns and exploring dungeons for new and awesome weapons.
Players complete linear quests with set objectives outside of quests they are free to move around the open world to explore dungeons, towns, villages, and other dangerous places scattered around the map.
When the player leaves a place they enter the world map which can be used to choose the places to go this world map portrays as a small version of the main world to make the travel easy while in this overworld player characters are seen as chibi like or little cute dolls kind of characters.
In the Revenant Kindom player have the ability to manage and build the kingdom depending on the arrangement of work-forces around the town.

Story.

There is not much of a story to tell here as it's simple and without much of complications the story is set about 100 years later the events of the last game i.e Ni no Kuni Wrath of the White Witch the Revenent kingdom features cats and mouse tribes two warring factions in the town of Ding Dong Dell ( See that's how you should name places.. it makes geography enjoyable ).
During the events of the game, a mouse tribe performs a coup and takes over the kingdom the story follows Evan Pettiwhisker Tildrum ( Okay, that's long ) a boy king of the cat tribe usurped from his kingdom and sets out to reclaim his kingdom.
He got aided by Roland a visitor from another world who just survived a nuclear explosion and Tani, the daughter of the boss of air pirates and these three friends set on to a journey, cool, isn't it ??
they find lots of help and people along the way which you will see and discover throughout the Kingdom.

So, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kindom is action pack adventure for everyone so why not try it right now it's available on steam now go and check it out because it's awesome.
That's All for today keep playing keep going on adventures otherwise life would be boring.

10 Indie Games You Must Play

We all know those great game companies like Capcom, Ubisoft, From Software and EA etc. All these companies are making big games which keep us busy on consols and PC and that's great, but we sometimes forgot small games which are made by single person or a very small team of people who work really really hard to make their games good for us and they bring pretty good games so, for a look into that and to appreciate them here are 10 indie games you must play.

1.Minecraft

yes, our all-time favorite Minecraft is made by a indie developer which is appreciated as the game done boom boom with everyone and stopped adults from wasting time on huge Lego models to waste time on huge block models in a computer screen and they did that pretty good as till today game is improving and they are adding features in the game till today ( they add lots of stuff ).
That's what places the Minecraft on our list of games you must play so play and don't play too much or you will not be able to stop. You may be already know everything about the game. In Minecraft, you have to survive, collect resources, and explore the never-ending world ( literally, the world if 4 times earth surface area ).

2.Cuphead

Cuphead is something like an old game cartoon in a new era and nailing it. They thought it is nice to wake some childhood memories up by bringing the old school to video games and they did it pretty nicely as the game is action packed and not so easy to play for 1st timers and shows if a game looks like the old cartoon doesn't mean it's easy. For its awesome gameplay system give it a go.

Like classic games checkout Crossing Souls

3.Old Man's Journey

This game is just beautiful as mostly the games focus on making the gameplay great but the old man's journey focused on making the story great as the game have no dialogues only visuals and gameplay is very simple as you have to assist an old man in his journey which takes quite good turns in-between.
There are some benches where you can sit and the old man memorizes his memory's which is quite beautiful too as through simple gameplay and no dialogues game teaches us some very important lessons to remember in life. The compelling story and simple gameplay make the game a must play and everyone should.

4.Fe

As I already written an article about it, In short, the game shows us what would world look like if trees and animals can communicate with each other with beautiful melodious sounds and songs. As they tell the story of the forest who is in danger and everyone should help each other to survive and fight back to the jungle can be saved.
You become the hero of everyone as a beautiful creature who has the power to make a different kind of sounds and interact with various animals and plants it's sparkling beauty and narration makes it a must play.

5.Inside

Inside is a puzzle game like Limbo but it's not completely dark though there are some other colors it's kind of told is the perspective of a world which is overrun by authorities as you play as a teenager and travel through factories, offices, and experiment chambers the game shows us what happens if control gets into the hands of wrong people and for that unique perspective and thinking it's a Must play.
As everyone should understand and be grateful that we are not in that version of the world.
It's like the really really dark version of the world which we definitely don't want to live in but the game is really fun to play.

6.Bastion

Bastion is kind of hero story like in the start of the game everything is collapsing for some reason and bastion falls to a place and find someone who helps him understand whats happening etc. and all the worlds you travel are floating in the sky it's like playing a story in the Skylands and you are fighting some kind of corruption and also building your hideout and you got upgrades.
New types of weapons and enemies levels and challenges and that's what makes the game fun to play. bastion don't let you get bored and keeps up with that strong enemy or power you just found.

7.Kentucky Route Zero

The game is kind of 80's story which has puzzles and at the same time horror elements and you really can't trust what you see as it changes you become a truck driver who is on his way to deliver a shipment and is on Kentucky Route Zero you have to talk to people and get information what to do next ( basic game dialogue bubble conversations ).
The clever visuals and plot make Kentucky Route Zero a must play as there are many mysteries to uncover and stories to hear. The game keeps you on the edge of your seat for what will happen next all the best and it's really a great Game.

8.OxenFree.

Oxenfree is about bonds we have with our family, friends, and past. The game is the story of a girl who is there with his stepbrother and 3 friends decide to go to an island where they used to come in the past years.
As they were hanging out on the beach they found out about a cave which response to the radio signals and they accidentally open a portal and found themselves separated from each other and got transferred to different parts of the island the game is pretty awesome as the characters got stuck in time loops and see weird things but that's what makes the game unique and great also a must play.

9.Rime

The game is pretty awesome as far as visuals are considered you play as a boy who got washed on the shore after the storm and found himself on an island where he founds strange and beautiful structures some of which activated can bring life in the stone statues and turn them into real animals with some kind of magical horns which are laying around and you have to you time manipulation for some puzzles.
As there are no animals on the island you have to make them come alive the game has stunning visuals and almost not dialogues. Your goal is to activate so many structures so you can reach the large Keyhole in the sky ( yes there is a keyhole tower standing on the land for some reason ).

10.Night In The Woods

The game is pretty appreciated by everyone the game is about meh ( a Cat ) who is a teenager and just returns from college after dropping out of it and meeting her friends who are at their jobs now and her past memories which you got reminded by other people.
You can run around in the city and talk to people and complete quests and commit crimes with her friends with are quite good actually the game shows the fun with friends and why they are so important as Meh's relationship with her parents is also not good and she plays guitar in the band which is pretty great. The game's freedom and mysteries and quests make it interesting and funny for everyone.

Surviving Mars: A Peek Into The Future.

If you know Elon Musk (Founder of SpaceX and Tesla) you maybe also know his dream of making humans a multi-planet species and recently he announced that humans will be able to build a colony on mars till 2050, well I don't know about that but if you dream of becoming person who lives on Mars and doesn't want to do it at a later age (if you are 20 now then by 2050 you will be 52) we got something for you.
Surviving Mars is a simulation game coming later this year the game is developed by Haemimont Games ( These guys made fun strategy games ) and published by Paradox Interactive ( remember City Skylines these guys helped in making that). The game going to be released on various platforms like Microsoft Windows, OS X, Playstation4, and Xbox One.
Surviving Mars is a simulation and strategy game (City Skylines on Mars basically). You become a hovering 3rd person view camera who have the abilities to blow up the whole colony (you know like every other simulation game).

Like Building ? Checkout Metal Gear Survive

Gameplay (As these games hardly have a storyline).

the game starts as every other simulation game starts with tools and lots of empty space. Then you have to build your colony by harvesting resources and making storage for those resources like solar panels and water.
Then after completing the basic requirements, you will gain population and as people from earth start living in a world made by you also have to think of there comfort and survival.
as we get from the game trailer you may expect a strange visit from aliens or Marians (Game will become Mars Attack) that will be really fun for a simulation game maybe you get more and more quests as you build forward in the game.
As there is a Possibility about aliens may be you discover truth and mysteries of a previously extinct alien race lets see what we will find.
The game is really a good thing to experience what kind of future we are going to have in another 40 or 50 years (Hopefully we are not going to have a FlatMars society).
The game is going to hit the launchpad for Mars on March 15, 2018.
Tell Us In the Comments what you think about going To Mars or Living there.

Tired of too much Building Relax on One of these games

Crossing Souls : Back To Childhood.

Everyone loves their Childhood and For us gamers, some games remind Us of our childhood and we make our friends watch that little detail or that nostalgic reference in-game which you can relate to, Why don't we, It brings back beautiful and sweet memories of childhood. Well, we always loved things that take us back to our childhood Like Stranger things, E.T and IT.
If you Are looking for going back to your childhood, We got you covered as Early this Week The indie development studio Fourattic finally launched Long waited for game Crossing Souls Which is published by Devolver Digital On Microsoft Windows, MacOs, Linux, Playstation4, and PS Vita.

Story.

The story of Crossing Souls has everything you can expect from a nostalgia suspense, A World to Explore, Mystery, a group of Friends, Miltary top Secret Project, Lots of References to movies and 80's and to the bonus Stranger things (Except You got better enemies than monsters).
So Story Starts as The group of friends found a dead body with a mysterious stone Which can make you available to see and interact with spirits Dead people (Sounds Like Writer is a Fan Of Harry Potter Too). So their curiosity with the stone makes them get caught in the eye of a Head Of the military and plans to stop children as he has his own plans for world domination as he found the stone in the first place.
meanwhile, the friends while not knowing the full power of the stone Come to realize the stone helps them to interact with spirits and the story is about their journey to discover the full powers of the stone as general threatens them to capture their parents and family.
Group of friends has all kids you see in an 80's Gang the leader, the strong one, the nerdy one the brown haired guy with glasses (why isn't there a toothless guy we miss him) and a Smart and Pretty Girl character.

Gameplay.

The Gameplay of Crossing Souls is also very interesting even being an indie pixel graphics game it got its own open world and player have to discover new areas in this to find clues or make progress in the story. The World is full of tedious puzzles and you have to die to cross some of them (not really).
You travel to the land of the dead which gives you new ways to cross Puzzles (Ooh...Sounds like Minecraft neither).
And another way to solve puzzles is every modern action game style Rip Up monsters until they run out of themselves and give you what you are looking for.
Lastly Puzzle game style you have to use your gamer brain to mash buttons which make some kind of logical sense so you can break that code or hack into a door or something.
The all Five friends have different abilities you have to switch between all of them to cross paths and get what you need.
The Game also contains cutscenes which are not really expected from this kind of game but they Gone an extra mile and those cutscenes also look like a TV show from 80's.
At the end of every level, a Boss or a Personality of the dead to fight or guide you.

If You Also Miss and Loved the 80's or Your childhood go and Play it and Revive your childhood Memories. Share Your memories of childhood in Comment section We Love to hear your Nostalgic Things.

What Remains Of Edith Finch, An Adventure

What Remains of Edith Finch an adventure game came out last year from Gaint sparrow Developers and Annapurna Interactive. The Is praised a lot by critics for its plot story and narration it also won an award for best narrative. The game is Great in every sense from start to end it really got the idea how to tell a story to a player and they did it really nicely. The story is focused on drama and first-person storytelling.

1.Back Story.

Game's Backstory is of Edith Finch. She is Back home after a long time and she is telling us the story of her family. About which is said their family has cursed all children die unnatural deaths due to it and which remains to have their kids. As The story starts and you walk to the finch residence Edith tells about how she used to live here and what she still remember about the place, How she used to play somewhere with granny and his brother. It really reminds you of your childhood days by listening to it, It's really emotional.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice another Emotional journey

2.Gameplay.

Gameplay is not of this game in the game its more like living a book, You can almost feel the activities you perform. The game also does not have many controls also just movement controls and one to interact with things which makes it more enjoyable and highly simple so you can enjoy the story without worrying which button to press.
Its Overall gameplay make you feel you lived the game not played it the gameplay is really good you get to fly, play a minigame, fly kite and swing on a swing, flip book pages open letters, twist levers and many more ( Play a comic book ). It makes you love it. As they make you crawl through small spaces and open secret passages that hunger for curiosity is really enjoying. You also encounter memorials for the family members whose stories you are reading.

3.Environments.

The Game environment is basically the finch residence, But also changes continuously when the game makes you live the stories of the family members of Finch family. It's right to say the game changes point of view of the gamers and the environment simultaneously Which provides an edge over storytelling to the gamer.
It becomes really interesting to see Environments change from beautiful to haunting then to normal again which is really enjoyable for the person who is playing the game. The Environments get small big and long (Try it And you will see).

4.The Story.

The Storyline I think is the Greatest thing in the game. The game Stands out of every other game due to story and narration which makes it a game worth playing because all of Us really enjoy game stories and love them if they are awesome like Story of Undertale is loved due to its story even it has video game Graphics.
This One has Way better Graphics and also really great Story. The game really makes you care about the members of the family members and feel bad about how their stories ended it really felt bad when you understand it emotionally.

5.The Effect.

So, In the End, the question is "What Effect does the game will leave you under when you finished it ?". The answer is You Will be blown away by narration, story and the wonderful experiences you will have throughout the whole game. The game left me wondering that how amazing experience that was if you are the person who loves understanding stories this game is for you Go and Play it right away. Sure You will Love It.

Tell us in the Comments how did you feel about the experience you had in the game
