Hollow Knight, a game whose name maybe you never heard is developed and published by Team Cherry. The hollow knight is an action - adventure game. Game mechanics are similar to the old Castlevania series you have this large world to explore following a purpose and finding powers and collectibles on the way. I called it baby Dark souls because they are similar it's simple and equally hard to defeat bosses
1. Story.
The game is filled with bugs and creatures so no human appearances. So the as the game starts we know nothing about the knight. only that he arrives at a small settlement above the Ruins of the city of Hollownest. The city has fallen long ago and the knight is here to discover its secrets as the knight descends to the ruins he found out there is a corruption is infecting everyone. the Knight encounters Hornet a guard of the Hollownest Ruins as she tries to stop the Knight from reaching the city of Hollownest But fails.
The knight got encountered by various foes in the ruins. then 3 creatures call themselves The Dreamers and told the knight to undo the three seals for them. As The the story progresses we come to know about the story as no story is told to the player directly and most of it is hidden in things the knight discover on his journey. The Game has 3 different endings based on the choices of player makes and the objects he found.
2.Combat And Powers.
The Combat of Hollow Knight is very simple you can attack enemies at a short distance with your Nail (Sword). In Different directions and while in the air the knight later gets the abilities to fire distant shots and climbing to walls. the Combat is simple but the Developers made it pretty hard to master that's why we call it baby dark souls.
You will die and start again from the checkpoint and you have to go back to kill a shadow of the knight to retrieve what you lost. The game provides a Flask which gets filled with Soul when it reaches a minimum amount of Soul you can use it to restore health points or to kill enemies with special abilities. You can get some new abilities by collecting the charms some of which also improves the already gotten abilities of Knight.
3. Friends and Foes.
As The Player Explore deeper in the dark caves he encounters many friends. And some shopkeepers which are lost so when you reach there they reopen their shops at Dirtmouth. there were some friends who talk to you when you approach them some tell you their tales and some are selling charms and some are also frauds.
The Enemies, on the other hand, are much more than friends they get stronger with increasing depth of exploration. Some of them can kill you even before you can figure out what to do. They become more alert with size and speed you going to need quick thinking and timing to defeat them and it gets even harder with Bosses. Well the good news is the bigger they are the more Geo they drop ( the in-game currency). The more you fight and kill the more you earn.
4.Environments.
Despite being a 2D platformer Hollow Knight done an astonishing work in designing the environments everything is just perfect. The music and the backgrounds are as pretty as they can be.
The Game is designed to be a masterpiece. The Hollow Knight takes the player through many various kinds of environments with different challenges and secrets. As The game map is big (I mean its really hhhhuuuuugggggeeee). Its Environments always has something new to show and Give you that Shiny charm or something that is hidden there.
5.Tips And Tricks.
So Now If you are going to give it a shot, There are some things you should know.
Be calm Don't rush.
Rushing in hollow knight may cost you a fortune in hollow knight because the world has small edges and tricky places you can only get through if you focus really hard.
Kill To Observe and Observe to Kill.
In Hollow Knight, every enemy has its own killing style when you attack them don't just fight observe the pattern. how they attack and how much time is between attacking and holding and what you can do in that to hurt the enemy. Be Quick and Smart You won't Lose Same applies to Bosses. they try really hard to prevent you from figuring them out.
Always Check the Corners
The world of Hollow Knight holds lots of secrets and sometimes they are hiding only one step away so always clearly check the corners so You don't miss a reward.
Use Loops to collect Geo.
if you think its hard for you to take down that boss and you require that charm for it but you don't have enough Geo find a Loop. A loop means to find a place in the game with big or medium enemies linger with also provides a decent amount of geo or use a geo charm. Kill those enemies and return to the bench and save game they will be revoked Repeat until the amount you want (The big mushroom place in fungal wastes is great for this).
Look for blind spots.
the blind spots are places where Bosses can't attack you during a fight they can provide cover as you heal yourself. Some enemies have it some don't you have to dodge those attacks before they kill you.
